Aiden Bordner is a product design leader, music nerd, Bay Area sports fan and armchair futurist living and working in San Francisco. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and began his involvement with the internet at the age of 12, when he got his first shell account on a UNIX box at Northwestern University and squandered it by almost exclusively building sci-fi-themed MUDs. He started his design career like many in that era: self-taught, primarily creating brochure sites for local businesses. Later he also taught himself HTML, CSS, PHP and Ruby and, after a brief stint as a software developer where he realized he was a mediocre-at-best engineer, he shifted his full focus to interaction design.
20+ years later, he’s working to advance the role of design in the product triad by leading teams to be strategic, craft-oriented and business savvy. Currently, that means leading design at Customer.io. Prior, he led design for Service Hub at HubSpot, led the growth design function at Intercom, and directed the core product design ("CXD”) team at Evernote. Before leading teams inside SaaS companies, he founded and ran a product design consultancy called Parade.
In the rare moments where he's not thinking about work or being chased around by one of his two boys, he’s very likely cooking and/or enjoying a glass of wine.
