I led a team of designers in the design of tasks in Evernote. We explored a number of ways to approach the tool in an aim to accommodate a wide array of use cases ranging from “pick up milk,” to full team management functionality with assignment. The final solution cleverly utilized the existing IA of the product—namely Notes and Notebooks—to organize tasks rather than creating any competing paradigms, a path that user research has suggested is the “a-ha” moment that Evernote customers are looking for.
